The air around or surrounding you. It is often used to refer to temperature (ambient temperature) and
means the temperature of the air around you otherwise know as room temperature. For example compressed air
leaving the compressor is hot. As it travels into the receiver and then down the pipework it cools until
it reaches ambient temperature or room temperature - the temperature of the surrounding air.
